I was offered a position at a non-profit that I had admired for years for the great work they did. I was in the same field of work. I heard negative things about the corp. but you know, I thought sour grapes....but...They work us to death, 60-100 hours a week. (no O/T)

They hire lots of family members, use them as eaves droppers and spies and, well you know…..and take emp to task in front of other staffers....till the staff quit without notice. Just up and leave.

Not only do I need the money, but I love the work…….Seems I will have to move on....I am sad and dazed....as I am taken to task in front of the staff, a 2nd time, two times too many for me....

not-dream-jobBesides computer management, reports, tax prep, blah, blah, blah, other skills I was hired for, peacemaking, my ability to get along with everyone, bringing people together to get the jobs done, a buffer between static personalities…..Wow, it's a tough work world, especially if you're a senior, as I am. Damn.

Work is like any relationship. It does not need to be equal, but you do not need to be driving the train all the time.

I think you need to look for another job. A job where you and your work is appreciated and not taken for granted. You can always find another non profit agency and most likely your experience will be much better. All my best to you.
